PERMISSION TO OPERATE (PTO)

YOUR SOLAR GOES LIVE!🟢

What is there to know?

🌟 After receiving approval from the city or county inspector for your solar installation, the next step is obtaining Permission to Operate (PTO) from your local utility.

*📝NOTE:
This process typically takes between 2 to 6 weeks before your solar system is fully operational and generating power.

Reaching out to the local utility company can at times speed this process, it rarely hurts. As once we have an approved inspection from the city or county the utility once notified can begin the processing of application of approving (PTO).

🧠Remember you are the customer of the utility and now will also be a partner participant in supporting the local grid.

Activate Monitoring

💡 Additionally, an install team representative will assist in setting up system monitoring with the inverter manufacturer, ensuring peak performance of your solar system.

What to do when pending, approval of your (PTO) application?

⏳ During this time, It is advisable to begin setting up registration for any local state incentive programs available to you - You might find this is best to do this once the system is powered on.

Additionally, after the installation is complete, you can utilize your Home Improvement Agreement to assist in filing for your federal tax return, potentially qualifying for solar tax credits.
